Boen Bio.jpg

Boen Bio

One of Southeast Asia's oldest Confucian temples, begun quietly in 1883 in Kapasan Dalam before moving to its present spot on the main road by 1907, its architecture fusing a Chinese turtle-shaped roof, Dutch colonial floor tiles, and Javanese carved woodwork into one building.

Community Field

The open heart of the kampung, framed by the old THHK school and now the Graha Boen Bio, a shared ground that has seen generations play, train, and gather. Children's games once filled this field alongside the school day; today it still hums with community life, from kung fu practice to neighborhood gatherings.

Tong Hiang Hwee Hall

Wartime refuge and bunker for Indonesian resistance fighters, healed here with traditional Chinese medicine. Today, a quiet storage room for kampong inventory.
